FAA Minimums
There are two separate flight instructor certifications, Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and Certified Flight Instrument Instructor (CFII). The below requirements apply to both certifications individually.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a Flight Instructor Certificate you must:

Be at least 18 years old

Hold either a helicopter Commercial Pilot certificate or Airline Transport Pilot certificate

Hold a valid medical certificate

Pass FAA knowledge tests
-
Fundamentals of Instructing​
-
Flight Instructor Helicopter, and/or
-
Flight Instructor Instrument
-
-
Pass the practical test (checkride)
Training Requirements
There is no flight time training requirement, but the following must be logged:

At least 15 hours as PIC in helicopters

Ground and flight training on all areas held within the Airmen Certification Standards (ACS) or Practical Test Standards (PTS) for helicopters
Advanced Training
You must received an endorsement from a qualified flight instructor on training received in full touchdown autorotations and must consist of the following:

Ground training on advanced autorotation maneuvering and aerodynamics

Flight training that includes training and proficiency in full touchdown autorotations
